Description

On February 10th 2011 , the first of four German "Nintendo 3DS Experience Night" events took place in the "MVG Museum" in Munich.

Presentation

The evening started with a presentation that was moderated by Silja Gülicher, Senior Assistant Manager PR for Nintendo of Europe and Max Zimmer, CEO of the Frankfurt-based Fiftyeight3D studio. Most of the information had already been heard at the Nintendo 3DS preview event in January, but there were also new details. A number of media cooperations were announced:

  • Nintendo will work with EuroSport to bring 3D sports content to the Nintendo 3DS
  • Thanks to an exclusive cooperation with German phone provider Telekom, it will be possible to download exclusive content at T-Mobile WLAN hotspots
  • Aardman and Nintendo will be bringing eighty 7-minute 3D episodes of Shaun the Sheep to the Nintendo 3DS
  • A video of Smudo from the German hip hop band "Die Fantastischen Vier" was shown. He announced that one of their concerts will be broadcast live on the Nintendo 3DS in full 3D (We later learned from a Nintendo employee that the concert would be delayed due to some technical problems).

Benedikt Schüler, Marketing Director of Ubisoft Germany, then entered the stage to present Ubisoft's six title launch line-up. The presentation closed with a trailer that showed the whole upcoming Nintendo 3DS launch window game line-up for Germany.

Going Hands-On

Finally, everybody could get his own hands on the new Nintendo 3DS in the game area and see the stereoscopic 3D effect with his own eyes — and our man was fairly impressed, with Star Fox 64 3D offering the best 3D effects in his eyes.

A small museum area also showed the history of 3D. And, not to forget, delicious snacks were served.

Here's a list of every game that was on display, either in playable form or as a video running on 3DS units. Scroll further down for videos and a massive number of photos from the event.
