Nintendo has updated the official site for their Nintendo World 2011 event, sharing the complete line-up of games,  a stage program as well as further demo opportunities.

The key data remained unchanged: The admission free event will be held in Hall 9 of the Makuhari Messe convention center from January 8th to 10th. It will be the first chance for the public to try out the new Nintendo 3DS, after it was only shown at press-only tradeshows previously.

Parental controls

A warning on the event page is saying that the Nintendo 3DS, like every other stereoscopic 3D device, should not be used by children under the age of 6, as it could harm their vision development. Therefore, children under that age are not allowed at Nintendo World 2011. The Nintendo 3DS hardware will have a parental control system which allows the 3D mode to be locked.

Other 3DS demo opportunities

Besides, Nintendo World, there will be a few more opportunities for the japanese public to sample the Nintendo 3DS prior to its release.

Nintendo will offer playable 3DS units at their booth at the Winter World Hobby Fair 2011. The event consists of 4 separate dates:

  • Osaka, Jan 6th
  • Tokyo, Jan 22nd and 23rd
  • Nagoya, Jan 30th
  • Fukuoka, Feb 6th
